It works, but... February 20, 2010 A. Hyun The good stuff:
* It works
* It has a good shape/size
* It has a cutoff to prevent overcharging with the AC adapter and can be stored plugged in
The bad stuff:
* It would be nice if the cables were longer, as was noted by another reviewer
* The clamps are very bulky and can be difficult to attach to some terminals, particularly side pole terminals
* There is no safety feature to detect reversed cables
* There is no cutoff to protect from overcharging from the 12VDC socket
* There is a "fully charged" indicator light, however, the instructions say you are supposed to keep charging it for at least 4-6 hours AFTER it lights up on AC and 2 hours via VDC (which is strange advice since there is no cutoff for DC charging...)
Business user January 30, 2010 L. Walker The contecting arms do not store easily into the holders on each side. Otherwise it is great.
Really good charger. January 26, 2010 Patrick Carroll (Atlanta, GA USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
In my experience, it works first time, every time.
Two niggles:
1. It could use a little bag to hold the mains and cigarette lighter chargers, or maybe have the them inside the booster case. It's just too easy to lose those little chargers.
2. The cables to the battery could be just a little longer. Some cars have the battery just slightly inconveniently located, so connecting the booster is a little difficult to connect.
Almost a year now and still going strong December 11, 2009 maxGamer (Seattle, Washington) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I've had a very busy year and around June my battery in my car died. It sounds silly to say it, but I just haven't had time to go get a new one put in so what do I do? I grab my trusty Jump Box and jump it off every morning, four times a day. Since JUNE!
This Clore has kept me running strong during that time with not one hiccup, missed day of work, or problem whatsoever. I couldn't be happier.
This is a little more expensive than the crap-tastic old yellow jump boxes but let me tell you - it's worth it not to worry about whether your car will start one morning.
I charge it about once a week when it falls below 3 LED's on the tester. Then it's good go go again - FOUR TIMES A DAY, for the rest of the week.
All in all I'd say it's money well spent!
This is the emergency jumper to buy!! December 3, 2009 J. L. Bergeron (Arizona) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
Do not hesitate ... if you're looking for a portable jump starter that will start a dead battery -- Look no further. Single mom certified! One Monday - car dead as doornail. I thought I'd left a light on or something, but research revealed this vehicle to have a history of draining batteries rather unexpectedly. After reading that, I knew I would need a portable jump starter that would not rely on a second vehicle (I drive rural roads). I'm the OCD type that researches every purchase to the hilt. I looked at a LOT of jumpers. I finally took the plunge with the ES2500 and it's a winner! I charged it up at work (upon delivery there) and continued charging overnight at home. In the morning one attempt was all I needed to start my vehicle right up. It's small enough that it sits right in the shallow "storage" area in the "way back." So many of the jumpers on the market are so bulky! That was one of the important features of the ES2500 that convinced me to buy it. That storage area is only about 4.5 - 5 inches deep. I had no problem fitting the petite (but heavy) ES2500 back there. I didn't want it out in the viewable cargo area, sliding around with every turn. While the +100 dollar price made me hesitate, I am convinced it is worth every penny. I can drive fully confident that a dead battery is not ever going to strand me and my daughter in the middle of nowhere. That peace of mind is a priceless blessing. Oh one last thing... It hadn't even been 24 whole hours from the time I ordered the ES2500 before Amazon had it in my hands. I did not pay for overnight. You Rock Amazon!
