A little bigger than a lunchbox, the Mity-Mite consists of a compact 12-volt battery with attached jumper cables encased in a rugged portable plastic shell. It fits in your trunk, or in the back of your cab, and it even takes up little space in the garage. Easy to Use
To revive a car with a dead battery, simply connect the Mity-Mite's two cables to the battery terminals of the stranded car and turn the key. After providing a jump (or every few months, if stored), the unit should be recharged by plugging it into a wall outlet with the included cord. Features

 Battery Won't Last! DANGER - 90 day warranty! June 3, 2010

I have a PS-120A I bought about a year ago. I went to use it the other day and it said RECHARGE so I Recharged it. Immediately upon plugging it in it said CHARGED. So I left it in over night, unplugged it and pushed the status button, and it said "RECHARGE".
I called Schumacher this morning, and after waiting 20 MINUTES on hold, was told that the battery was likely bad, and that the battery had only a 90 day warranty, and that if you don't charge the battery once a month every month it will discharge permanently and will become landfill like mine.
CAREFULLY CONSIDER whether you want to purchase a Schumacher product. I asked if there was a trade in program, or if there is anything I can do, and they said "Buy a new battery or buy a new unit". Hardly what I would call stellar company support, and even though they charge a premium for their products, THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND WHAT THEY MAKE!!!
My next jump starter will NOT be a Schumacher.

This thing works great... for a while. We had no problems with ours for the first year or two. At this point, it's worthless -- doesn't charge any more. If it's a planned obsolescence thing, it makes sense to buy a cheaper one and consider it disposable... Or maybe we just got a bad apple. However, given that a couple of other reviewers have noted similar problems, I suspect that our experience isn't atypical.

It served us well. Did its job. But after about 5 years, with very few times used, and not too many times needing to be charged from AC current, it would no longer charge up from an AC chord.

I bought this little toy at a local auto mart and it has saved the day. It holds the charge for weeks and has never failed me in jumpstarting a car. I leave it in my wife's car during the winter months in case her battery doesn't start and it works great.
Definitely a high recommendation.

I purchased one of these about 7 years ago from Sears and I had excellent service until last spring when it finally gave up the ghost. I recently bought another exactly like it from Amazon for about $15.00 less than I paid back in 2000. For this price I can not think of anything to complain about especially if I get another 6+ years from this one.I generally use it to start my lawn tractor but in a pinch I have used it to start car and truck engines as well ( 4,6 & 8 cylinder ). If I had one complaint it would be that the cables are very short, making it somewhat difficult to jump batteries that are in an awkward spot. Otherwise at $21.88 (free s/h ) I'd be nuts to whine.
