Product Description Black & Decker introduces the new Pocket Power, a compact portable source with rechargeable backup battery that powers and recharges personal electronics while on the go. The new Pocket Power simultaneously powers and recharges mobile electronic devices such as cell phones, BlackBerry/PDAs, MP3-like devices, digital cameras, camcorders and more when a household AC power outlet is not available. The Pocket Power will provide up to five hours extended runtime for personal electronics. With its slim profile design the Pocket Power is thin enough to conveniently fit into an average size jacket pocket, or be tucked away into a briefcase or purse. Take the Pocket Power with you on business or away from home to have the confidence and convenience of power when you need it for your portable personal electronics. The Pocket Power battery fully recharges from a 120-volt household outlet in less than eight hours. A battery status LED lets you know 10 minutes before the Pocket Power battery is depleted and needs to be recharged. A built-in power/fault LED indicates the condition of the inverter. A draw-string travel bag keeps the Pocket Power protected while traveling

Black and Decker Does Not Honor This Product Warranty June 9, 2010 Tom (Encinitas, CALIFORNIA, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Two weeks ago I purchased this Black and Decker product from my local CVS store in California. Brand-new, out of the package it wouldn't work. I felt reassured that at least it had a two year warranty, and was a "name brand" of Black and Decker. I was shocked when I phoned the Black and Decker service center in Texas, the 800-544-6986 that was included with the warranty info, ...and they told me that since the item had been manufactured three years earlier (there was a 2007 date-sticker on product), and since this product had been discontinued by Black and Decker, they could not honor the warranty for repair or replacement.
I informed the Black and Decker service-center manager [Anita] that it was not legal for Black and Decker to claim "no responsibility" for their warranty, and they couldn't refuse to honor their warranty just because they discontinued the item, (particularly because I had just purchased it two weeks prior, & had my receipt). She then gave me a local Black and Decker service-center phone number in California, where the representative ("Dave") informed me that because the item was discontinued by Black and Decker, "I was out of luck", and there was nothing they could do. It was just suggested I return the item to the store.
Beware consumers! Black and Decker is setting new precedents in skirting their legal responsibilities regarding honoring their product-warranties. It seems that since the volume of complaints are so high regarding Black and Decker products, not much attention is being paid to this negligence on Black and Decker's part, (and who has the time and money to bring a "breach of warranty" case to court, for a $50. item?)
After this experience I will never again have confidence in the Black and Decker name, and I urge you to consider researching consumer-complaints about this company's customer-service, before purchasing Black and Decker products.

Battery Backup November 28, 2009 Michael Davis (Colorado, USA) I bought this as a battery backup for my MP3 player. I use it to listen to audio books on airline flights. It does the job fine, but I feel it is overly heavy for the job and has features, like an AC output, which I really don't need. My only real gripe is that it takes a very long time to recharge.
OK Power Backup August 15, 2009 Donald E. Obrien (Western New York) The product works as promised. I was hoping to get 12V DC out the charge port since that's the charge voltage. That port is blocked as an output.
Junk mostly August 13, 2009 Terence Iverson (Newell, IA) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought on of these for $5 in the bargain aisle of wal mart, I bought it just for kicks to see if it would charge my Zune, I was happy to see that it did start to charge my zune and was very happy at that point, thinking that I had finally found a USB charger for my wonderful Zune, Turns out there are 2 major problems here, this unit it way to heavy to carry around on only charged my Zune for about 5 - 10 minutes. I figured that I could always take the whole unit apart and wire it up to the 14.7V system of a car, nope, the battery pack inside is only a 9.6V pack, bad things could happen if you hooked it to 14.7v.
For an 1800Mha pack, it should give more than a 10 minute charge.
There are two sizes, 10W & 20W June 9, 2009 Tommmeee (So Calif) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
There are two sizes, the small 800 MAH unit (2 hours) & the large 2000 MAH (5 hours) unit. I purchased the small 10 watt unit & was VERY disappointed so I returned it. It took 17 hour charge for only 2 hours of my XM radio use which was insane. I then purchased the 'heavy' 20 watt unit with much better results. I used it to power my XM radio for 5 hours and it works well to recharge my cell phone twice. It will also power a LED 2 watt (45 watt equiv) light bulb for 7 hours. It also charges in 17 hours but the power available is more satisfactory. I WILL KEEP IT. It will work better if the Lithium Ion version is ever developed.
